Greer Industries Taps New Marketing VP
Greer Industries, a Morgantown holding company, announced the appointment of Bob Friend to the post of VP of Marketing.
Friend will be responsible for developing new market opportunities with a particular focus on marketing efforts for Greer Steel, one of America's premier producers of carbon/alloy steel strip and flat wire, and Greer Lime, a state-of-the-art producer of a variety of lime and limestone products.
"We are very excited to have Bob heading up our Marketing," said Robert Gwynne, Executive Vice President. "It is a role that suits his capabilities perfectly. We expect his leadership and organizational abilities will make a positive mark on our customers’ experiences and will open new avenues for us in the marketplace."
Friend, who graduated from LSU in 1986 with degree in Business Administration, brings a diversity of marketing experience to his new job. Additionally, Friend, a former PGA Tour player, has extensive relationship-building skills which complement Greer Steel’s approach to providing customers with tailored solutions to their needs.
Greer Steel, founded in 1917, produces extremely high quality cold rolled strip steel to exacting customer specifications. The company is headquartered and has its main plant in Dover, Ohio along with its service center in Ferndale, Michigan. Both facilities are ISO 9001-2000 certified and the Dover facility's metals laboratory is A2LA accredited.
